Bunker Blitz Nazi diehard and fanatics...。1945年，国民党统治下，留美冶金工程师常为梁的工业救国理想破灭了。解放后，他回到原先服务的中国钢铁厂，担任工程师的职务，满心希望把自己的技术献给国家，使中国工业化更上一层楼。他把辛辛苦苦写成的工厂改革计划拿给总经理，总经理不但不采纳，反而要利用他当做反共工具，要他在反共宣言上签名，常工程师当场拒绝。他看到技术人员不被尊重，看不到工人阶级的力量，他很不愉快。军代表帮助他提高了觉悟，1949年10月1日，新中国成立了，常工程师和工人们成为了新中国的主人。。
